Kids in Kindergarten - 5th grade who come on Saturday nights enter our RecConnection Program!
RecConnection is a program we developed to go along with our Saturday night service! Whether you are in worship or in small group, you can know that even after a long day of other activities, your kids are going to be begging to go to RecConnection! It's also our entry point or kids that may not have gone to church before or are nervous about coming. Here's what your kids can expect to do at RecConnect:
WATERING HOLE ACTIVITIES: Kids can begin entering at 5:45 through our check-in room. (Nursery - PreK will go to their Little Explorer rooms on Saturdays.) Kindergarten - 5th graders proceed down to the Watering Hole where they will have multiple games and activities to play with while they get to know the adult and youth team members, and the other kids.
RULES: One of our goals on Saturdays is for kids to learn that it's good to have rules! Rules (just like the ones God outlines in the Bible) help us enjoy life! Our rule on Saturday is to be a good S.P.O.R.T. which means S - Speak nicely, P - Play (Don't sit on the sidelines), O - Obey the leaders, R - Respect others, and T - use Teamwork. We go over these rules around 6:05, and by 6:10 we head over to the Family Life Center (the gym)! Just like our Safari Kids area, the gym is locked the entire time the kids are there, and it is also under video surveillance.
ICE-BREAKER GAME: If there are several visitors, we play a "get to know you" game.
REC GAME: We have fun playing a game! Whether it's kickball, basketball, or a crazy relay game, they WILL have fun!
BIBLE POINT GAME: We play a short game that introduces the Bible Truth or Bible story that the kids will be learning the following morning (on Sunday) in Safari Kids. After the game, we go over that truth or preview with them.
FREE PLAY: The children will enjoy some free play with the variety of equipment we have if they have earned it by following the rules. They help clean up the equipment around 7:05 and head back to Watering Hole.
WRAP-UP TIME: In Watering Hole, we have snack and maybe some more table-top games as the children wait for parents to pick them up.
