Strategic Service ~ Volunteer Ministry Opportunities At First Alliance Church

First Alliance Church is committed to volunteer leadership as we pursue our mission of connecting people to God and each other. Volunteers are vital to the success of this mission, and we want each volunteer to be well trained and well prepared. To join the First Alliance Church volunteer ministry teams, we ask that everyone do the following:

  • Look over the opportunities to serve below
  • Contact a representative from the ministry you choose who will then inform you of the the next steps to follow which will include an application, orientation and apprenticing for that ministry.

Thank you for being willing to serve in this way. The sacrifice of time and energy you make will have an eternal impact in the lives of many people. We look forward to partnering with you!

GREATEST NEEDS

Youth Ministries - Contact Chris Long

Our Youth Ministries are built upon building relationships with students.  We need men and women who will build relationships with our Middle & High School students.  It is called, "The 'Be With' Factor".  We want students to see what difference Jesus makes in the lives of our leaders - that happens when you spend time with students.  You can get involved in several ways - see this as a starting point to building life-changing relationships.

  • Youth Communtiy Group Leader -Lead up to 12 students in a discussion.  You are NOT the teacher!  Wednesday's 6:30-8 pm.
  • Snack Bar - We need people to man our snack bar on Wed. nights and Sunday mornings.  Students love food and those who serve it to them!!!
  • Event Planner - Good with details & like planning fun events?  This is for you!
  • Administrative Help - Keep contact info up to date with students and their families - Get info from new students - Send birthday cards - Send out mailers - etc.  This is the behind the scenes stuff that makes a huge difference.
  • Area Control - Help with security.
  • Life U Teacher - Teach a Life U session Sunday morning.
  • Special Events - Help with special events
  • Meals - Help serve or co-ordinate Sunday evening meals.

Children's Ministry - Waumba Land is First Alliance Church's preschool ministry at the 9:15 & 10:45 services for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. We have a Co-op Ministry Team where parents who have a child in this ministry serve once a month (or less) during either the 9:15 or 10:45 AM services. If your child is attending one of these services please contact Kristin Sefik to find out how you can join the Waumba Land Co-op Ministry Team.

Kingdom Kids is the small group ministry for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Each week, children experience worship, Bible story, and small group time. This program teaches children to trust God no matter what, to make wise choices, and to treat others as they want to be treated. Volunteers are needed to serve as Small Group Leaders, Bible Story Tellers, Greeters, and Tech Team Members.  If you would like to volunteer on a rotation basis or receive more information about our program please contact Kristin Sefik.

Big City Studio takes a non-traditional approach to childrens' ministry by conducting a weekly, multimedia production that is both Bible based and kid-focused. Each Sunday, actors, musicians, and storytellers weave a high-energy message around a specific Bible story with a main truth. Big City Studio is designed to challenge kids to participate in what they are learning. Volunteers are needed to serve on the following teams: Host Team, Crowd Control, Worship Leading and Tech Team.  If you would like to volunteer on a rotation basis or receive more information about our program please contact Kristin Sefik .
