PROJECT VISION
October 2, 2008
Here at FAC, we are concerned and focused on connecting people with God and with each other. To keep pace with how God is moving in our congregation and to better fulfill our vision, we are in the process of acquiring land with the purpose of expanding our facility. As we join together in executing our vision, it is the goal of the Communication Team to keep you accurately informed throughout the process with regular handouts, an up-to-date website and periodic meetings. Our current progress is as follows:
Project Vision is happy to announce the following on four fronts:
* LAND CONTRACT
After several rounds of revision and review, the contract for the purchase of the Kings Highway property appears to be nearly ready for signing. Most of these adjustments are due to the fact that we are purchasing the land from two sellers. Our final version is fair and equitable to both sides and there have been no changes to key provisions in the contract including the price or the length of the inspection period. Once the contract has been reviewed by the Governing Board and signed, a detailed information package will be made available.
* LAND INVESTIGATIONS
A meeting was held with Desoto County officials. At this meeting, they indicated that they would look very favorably on the Church's application for a special exception to the zoning regulations. This exception would allow us to build a church on the Kings Highway property. Other discussions have been held to begin discovering as much as possible about the property and our ability to relocate there. The Land Acquisition and Project Management teams will keep you informed as developments warrant.
* BUILDING DESIGN
The Building Dream Team has begun interviewing the staff and ministry leaders to gather the design requirements for the new Church building.
* VISION & STRATEGIC PLANNING
The Vision & Strategic Planning Team has met often. They are working to ensure that our new facility will match our core values and vision.
As we continue this exciting journey in fulfilling our vision as God's people at First Alliance Church, please pray for God's continued direction and provision. As we move forward in faith, may we see many more people in Charlotte County "Connecting with God and connecting with each other."
For the Project Management Team and
Respectfully Submitted by the Communication Team
